Maryka was recently appointed as a director of Chris Fick and Associates Inc.
She specialises in property law, conveyancing, notarial servitudes and general notarial practice.
Over and above her conveyancing practice, she is interested in environmental law and the environment in general and aspires to see as much as possible of the world and experience as many developing countries as possible.
On Saturday, 28 June 2014, she was also inducted as President of the Waterfront Rotary Club for the 2014/2015 year.
Maryka has a special interest in the welfare of children and is involved with the Christine Revell children’s home, where she is chairperson of the Trust, and also involved in various other projects that are run and/or supported by Rotary. Among other projects, environmental camps for pupils from various city schools that are held at the Soetwater Environmental Camp, near Kommetjie.
Maryka was born in Johannesburg, studied law in Bloemfontein, lives in Noordhoek with her four dogs, and enjoys hiking. In May 2013, to mark her 50th birthday, she walked the 790 kilometer El Camino pilgrimage from St Jean in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
